Recruiting and retaining healthcare professionals is one of biggest challenges facing the health care industry in today’s climate. It’s vital to use a strategic approach that emphasizes recruiting the right employees who will stay for an extended period of time.

Louisiana Rural Health Clinics, Critical Access Hospitals and Federally Qualified Health Clinics are invited to attend the in-person 3RNet Mini Academy on July 19, 2022 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Participants will learn how to strategize and implement best practices for recruiting and retaining healthcare professionals into rural and underserved communities. 9:30-10:15 a.m. Part I: Planning and Preparation
The most often neglected step is planning, generally the first response is to go straight to sourcing.  In this morning session we will go through how to assess your need and start the recruiting process off for right for the best retention success. Assign roles to create a recruiting team. Look at your community, culture and compensation to learn about your unique selling points. We will finish up planning learning what it really cost you to recruit.

10:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Part II: Marketing to and Finding Candidates
Building on the preparation you completed in Part One, Part Two will have you creating your opportunity posting in a way that is important to the candidate. You will conduct a self-review of your postings, application process, website and social media. This session will include valuable tips to create the ideal job posting as well as ways to effectively leverage social media, where to source and utilize free and low-cost resources.

12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch

1:00-2:00 p.m. Part III: Matching and Committing
In this hands-on session, participants will learn Behavioral Interviewing skills and other strategies necessary to consistently hire the right employees for your organization’s specific needs. Using specific techniques to interview the candidate and spouse/partner will allow you to be strategic in your approach to recruiting the right candidate and retaining them for the long-term. A critical part of the screening process is conducting the onsite visit. In this session, participants will learn what motivates a candidate and how to use that knowledge to tailor an onsite visit for the best possible outcome.

2:00-3:00 p.m. Part IV: Retaining for the Lifecycle of the Employee
This session is all about Re-Recruiting your current employees. We will go through proven retention techniques including Onboarding, Stay Interviews, Succession Planning, Total Compensation Statements and many more. Arrive ready to fully participate in this working session and gain valuable skills to put into action immediately!
