Creative Family Solutions offers a number of counseling and educational services for youth and families of St. Charles Parish. Creative Family Solutions is a non-profit organization that hopes to empower individuals to make good choices, reclaim self-esteem, trust others and achieve goals.
Character Counts: this is a nationally recognized program used with grades K through 12. The framework is centered on the following values: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
Girls Programs
- Body Image (Ages 12+): This program examines cultural messages and personal beliefs that influence body image.
- Paths to the Future (Ages 12+): This is a skill building support circle for at-risk or court-involved girls.
- Being a Girl (Ages 11-13): This group introduces girls to a positive experience of a support circle.
Nurturing Parents: this evidence-based Nurturing Parent Program focuses on the development of empathy, self-worth, self-awareness, empowerment, discipline with dignity, appropriate family roles and age-appropriate expectations of children’s development.
Adolescent Substance Abuse: Creative Family Solutions uses The Matrix Model for Teens and Young Adults for the intensive outpatient substance abuse program. It consists of three different groups as we as individual and family counseling sessions as needed. In the program, clients are offered the opportunity to discuss their struggles with addiction and current triggers, as well as share successes and lessons learned. The group has scheduled topics but also includes a supportive component which allows the clients to learn from each other and provide support when needed.
