Improving Access to Health Services
Healthcare Access in Louisiana
Good health is a right, not a privilege, but 86% of our residents live in area where access to primary care, dental health and mental health services are limited. We partner with providers and clinics to expand our community health systems to provide integrated, efficient and effective care services to all Louisiana residents.
Our work is also focused on achieving health equity for Louisiana. This is when everyone has the opportunity to attain their full health potential and none are disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.
Together, we can help your community get access to the healthcare they need.

A Health Professional Shortage Area is an area with too few primary care, dental health and mental health providers and services that have been designated to help prioritize and focus our resources to help meet the healthcare needs of residents in these areas.
