The Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Care Access, branded as Well-Ahead Louisiana, partnered for an event curated by Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) and the Office of Inclusion and Social Justice in celebration of Women’s Wellness Week at the University Center (UC), located at 4955 Drexel Dr., New Orleans, Louisiana.
On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Well-Ahead Youth Prevention Manager Terrell Gill served as a panelist for the “Rest, Resilience, and Redefining Success on Your Own Terms” panel, highlighting the role of tobacco prevention in women’s health.
Psychology student, Senior, DeMarria Williams, delivered opening and closing remarks for the panel, stating, “The conversation is needed. A lot of people don’t understand how to balance success and wellness.”
XULA’s closing Women’s Wellness Week outreach event, “Flow & Flourish: The End Period Poverty & Wellness Experience,” held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, focused on women’s health, period poverty, puberty, and more.
Well-Ahead’s Quit With Us, Louisiana (QWULA) cessation platform was also featured, as research shows that the nicotine in e-cigarettes is highly addictive and can cause low birth weight in newborns and pre-term delivery in expecting women.
