The Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana knows that investing early in the health and development of Louisiana’s children results in much better development later, and that’s one of the reasons they are proud to be a WellSpot.

“The childhood obesity problem in Louisiana is critical,” said then-executive director of the Coalition Lynn Clark. “It falls on us – the adults who care for and about children – to create an environment where the healthy choice is the easy choice for every child.”

Through their programs, the Children’s Coalition works with parents, community partners and early child care providers to promote healthy eating and physical activity. Clark believes the WellSpot Designation Program serves as a great way to tie them all together.

“It’s changed the way I think about health, so that now I see it in all of our programs,” said Clark, “and I look for opportunities where we can increase the health and wellness of both the participants and those who provide the support.”
