The German Coast Farmers Market serves as a community gathering place, tourist destination and a market for a wide range of fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers and other value-added items in the parish of St. Charles.
There are various vendors that sell an assortment of items. Bees are my business sells local bee honey, farm eggs, honey with walnuts, honey with pecans and walnuts. Blue Tara Blueberries sells freshly picked certified-organic blueberries. Bob’s Produce sells pineapple plants, pepper plants and assorted vegetable plants. Homegrown Produce sells cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, brussels sprouts, tomatoes, strawberries, green beans, carrot, onions, garlic, potatoes, kale, mirliton, bell peppers, and jams.
The Farmer’s Market takes place every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00pm-6:00pm at 1313 Paul Maillard Rd, Luling and every Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ormond Plantation, Destrehan.
