The St. Tammany Parish Hospital Diabetes Education Department provides diabetes self-management training and medical nutrition therapy for people with diabetes. Our team of Certified Diabetes Educators works closely with the referring physician to provide education and training to develop a treatment plan that fits your lifestyle.
The Diabetes Self-Management Education Program is designed to help educate patients and family members on how to manage this disease. Our team of educators works with all involved in the patient’s care to meet the customized treatment goals. The program offers education in a variety of settings, including one-on-one and group classes. Most insurance companies, including Medicare, provide coverage for Diabetes Education.
Our Diabetes Education Department has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association in accordance with the national standards for quality diabetes patient education programs.
